Arrived Georgetown Penang on a short 3Days 2 Nights stay and had our accommodation booked at The Prestige Penang, constructed out of old shophouses and warehouses, to this amazing hotel. The hotel website features a detailed description that attracted us to stay here. When we arrived, our expectation was high. But gladly the hotel staff made us feel welcome the minute we stepped in. My first impression on whats around : seeing a small lobby area / shiny platinum checking in counter,the on site dining area right on the opposite side, the lounge area, & the arcade , they were all in a separate area of space unlike a traditional big hotels, making it uniquely prestigious!

So we have longed wanted to visit Malacca but never had enough time to spare each time when we are in the area. Its a 2 hour pleasant drive from Kuala Lumpur, though not on a cloudy and rainy day. Thanks to my college best friend, Flora, who made the arrangement and made this trip possible. We weren’t lucky enough to choose this day as it was raining intermittently all day through. Also thanks to Danny for guiding us on this trip. We had a wonderful lunch at Siew Tin’s Nyonya Kitchen to savor the Nyonya dishes. And here are some of the very colorful scenes I have ever taken in pictures.
Christ Church, an 18th century Anglican church located a few minutes to Jonker street.Malacca Art GalerySt Paul’s church ruins, the structure was originally built in 1521 by a Portuguese captain, Duarte Coelho . It is located on top of St Paul’s hill and you’ve git to climb up 100 steep staircase to reach this unroof ruin. Walking tour in Rio was a pretty good idea to do! This place is so amazing to visit and there is so much to see, its a much needed place to visit! You can see churches in every corner, I mean they are 18th Century churches with wonderful designs and structures. You can even have a chance to see the old gold plated church in Rio!

On the trail, Some of the sulphuric springs have dried up during our visit. The temperature was about 90F. Good to see this place again after the last visit 7 years ago.
This park has everything for a visitor has to see. Custer Park is awesome, just pure nature on every direction within the park and so far the best camping site I have seen. Did not encounter any other wildlife besides birds and deer during our brief trip here. Definitely worth the visit!
Its always cloudy whenever we visit this place. There is always a crowd but each time we have a chance to be here or just passing though, this place stays majestic. Good to see these enormous sculptures again.
This Benedictine Monastery is a home to about 30 monks and brothers. We met Fr James at the gift shop and sort of gave us some information on the history of the beautiful monastery. We walked the hallway with a really high traditional ceiling, very ancient and historical. It has all the dark wood wall which I thought was a very unique design yet very elegant! On both sides of the hallway were rooms with a very tall Cathedral style doors and again with a very distinct design. This place, though it was built in the 1800’s, still looks very clean and very well maintainAlready in our itinerary, visited this holy place, Assumption Abbey, after Theodore Roosevelt National Park in the afternoon. I certainly Read on their website that they have a gift shop selling items such as soaps, candles and lots of religious items made at the Monastery by the monks themselves. I was particularly wanted to look at some of the soaps and so bought a few. The Abbey grounds, vast and beautiful, quite and peaceful, calm and free from disturbances with all beautiful surroundings. Such an enriching experience!Had time to attend sunset mass at St Mary’s in this 128 year old beautiful church. Very well made soap, nicely wrapped and the smell was heavenly! They even have a mention what good the soap will do for your skin.
