The Old Faithful

Old Faithful Spouts hot boiling geyser faithfully for years since 1870 with regular 90 minutes interval and erupts about 17 times a day
Geyser time ~ viewing deck
Social distancing is much better here at the back of the platform deck and its under the tree shades.

The area is huge but the area has thousands of visitors daily

The scenic drive within the Park

The beautiful and scenic drive from Mammoth hot springs and Old Faithful, inside the Yellowstone National Park.
Sometimes you will share the road with Bisons
I would think that this is an old Bison (old scaly skin visible) left behind and grazing all alone!
Beautiful Yellowstone river along the way
Not the right time to see wildlife at 2pm as most them are under shades

Scenic drive thru – the place to be
Hikers’ haven

Visitors are still flocking in

Assumption Abbey

This Benedictine Monastery is a home to about 30 monks and brothers. We met Fr James at the gift shop and sort of gave us some information on the history of the beautiful monastery. We walked the hallway with a really high traditional ceiling, very ancient and historical. It has all the dark wood wall which I thought was a very unique design yet very elegant! On both sides of the hallway were rooms with a very tall Cathedral style doors and again with a very distinct design. This place, though it was built in the 1800’s, still looks very clean and very well maintain
Already in our itinerary, visited this holy place, Assumption Abbey, after Theodore Roosevelt National Park in the afternoon. I certainly Read on their website that they have a gift shop selling items such as soaps, candles and lots of religious items made at the Monastery by the monks themselves. I was particularly wanted to look at some of the soaps and so bought a few.
The Abbey grounds, vast and beautiful, quite and peaceful, calm and free from disturbances with all beautiful surroundings. Such an enriching experience!
Had time to attend sunset mass at
St Mary’s in this 128 year old beautiful church.
Very well made soap, nicely wrapped and the smell was heavenly! They even have a mention what good the soap will do for your skin.

The Enchanted Highway

This is an eye catcher on the freeway, was curious what the sculpture was all about. Well this a kind of hobby to someone with a talent and a collection of scrap metals and the love of wildlife.

On the same highway stretch, I thought the drive was beyond beautiful to my mind as the sky was just as blue and white clouds in contrast.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Driving through the park entrance. This park has an area of 110.1 sq miles in size. Visitors may drive many miles within the park area
The Painted Desert ~ The color isn’t quite seen like ‘painted’ but is probably best seen in the Fall with leaves of different color.

The tiny-teeny town of Medora is a gateway to this quiet and isolated park. This park is the least visited of all and is of course a tribute to the 26th President who was also a Conservationist. When we arrived and drove around Medora, we instantly felt “at leisure” as there was no traffc lights, cars were moving kinda slow. Looking around, we saw this ☑️ an amazing ride!

Medora

Its a Cowboy Hall of Fame too!
